Weeks 11-12 · harmony
Sing a note that fits over the drone — but not the drone itself.
Why this matters: this is the first time you’re asked to sing a non-tonic line and have it sound right. Major-triad tones — root, 3rd, 5th — are the safe set: they’ll all consonate against a tonic drone. Get the feel for “different note, still belongs.”
10 trials. The drone holds the tonic; sing any of root / 3rd / 5th in any octave and hold for 2s within ±60¢. Pass = land a triad tone. 7/10 masters the session.
